Frequently Asked Questions.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I am currently in-network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Cigna.
What if I want to use an insurance you are not in-network with?
We can provide a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
What ages do you treat?
I see adults ranging in age from 18-64.
How long are the appointments?
Typically the very first appointment is 60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.
Can you prescribe medication for me at the first appointment?
I do not always prescribe medication at the first appointment, as it can sometimes take 1-3 sessions to complete our initial assessment.
Can you prescribe controlled medicines (ex. Adderall, Vyvanse, Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, etc.)?
At this time, no. In order to comply with DEA rules I am not prescribing controlled medicines unless we have had an in-person appointment first.
Can I see you for my appointment if I am located outside of Maryland or Virginia?
Generally, no. At this time, in order to comply with regulations, I need to have a license in the state where you are sitting at the time of our appointment. Please check with me ahead of time if you will be in another state during our appointment, as I do have several different state licenses and may be able to accommodate you.
What if an emergency situation arises?
Please call 911 or go to the emergency room.
Can you write a letter/fill out paperwork/complete a form for me?
Let’s discuss this at your appointment. Typically I will schedule a separate appointment for this purpose.
What if I need to move or cancel my appointment?
We ask that you please give us at least 24 hours of notice if you will miss your appointment to avoid being charged a fee.
How far ahead of time should I request a refill?
Refills are generally sent in during follow-up appointments. However, if a refill is being requested outside of a scheduled appointment, please allow up to about 1 week for this to be sent in.
Can you help me with emotional support animal documentation?
I do not provide letters or documentation for emotional support animals but can provide possible resources where you may be able to acquire these.
